DMGC Rigour and Purpose

Having met with Jan Blemmings this afternoon I am very pleased with her feedback but also very appreciative of her suggestion and importantly the enthusiam and empathy with which she delivers them.

What did I take from her visit.

Keep pushing the envelope, believe in what you are doing.

If you are going to invest 2hrs our your time and that of your colleagues, then you need to add value to the students curricular skills as well as offering extra curricular activities.

Add rigour and purpose – on which point I must agree. Rigor design a more structured curriculum to what we are introducing the students to. Second, to give each task a real purpose. So, after a brief discussion we are drafting the concept of the 2 minute Bafta. Short movies designed, storyboarded and created in….. well that the students decision. The title follows on from todays lesson ‘The small things make the big things happen.’

I will keep you posted on the outcome and winners of the Hamble College 2 Minute Bafta Awards.
