Twittering on

I am not going to re-write what has already been written. Twitter has seen off competitors, gained a celebrity following, a Presidental following and I am now being followed by my local newspaper. Aside, its benefits to education and my Personal Learning Network are very clear to me.

Professional conversation and discourse, sharing of resources, connections and networking.

If you wish to accelerate your twitter consumption then Tom Barrett makes a number of good suggestions I have clipped;

  1. Profile – Make sure that you include ‘education in your’ profile, include a picture.
  2. Get started straight away
  3. Follow a bunch of people
  4. Get someone with a big network to put a shoutout for you (he also mentions piggybacking, follow other twitters followers.
  5. Begin replying to people

I would add, there are now so many Twitter tools or add-ons there are now definitive lists, aswell as lists of twitter education professionls. So get tweeting, or just listen in.
