2pm Ofsted calling

It really is a leadership moment when you announce to your staff body that Ofsted will be joining us for briefing tomorrow morning at the end of another busy day.

I wrote the above introduction during a short break after the briefing and before our SLT meeting and I had hoped to be able to record and reflect on the experience. Since that briefing it has been meeting, task, prepare a, b and c. Answered a few questions from some of our fantastic staff. Ordered food for SLT, conferred and discussed d and e and prep f. I hardly a moment to consider and reflect on the sense of intrepidation felt by many of the staff.

The day started 6am, I chatted with our Premises Officer who had come in especially early to open up. It was then finish this task and respond to essential emails only. Support of request, paired observation, teach, teach, lunch duty, assembly, student meetings. Lesson observation debrief, followed by observer feedback. More of that another time. I did then manage to eat my apple, banana and satsuma at 4pm, during my meeting with the County Advisor. SLT meeting delayed, checked essential email. 6:25-7:45pm SLT meeting. Home for 8pm. DInner and back at the evidence trail. 10:54pm. Stopping in favour of an early rise.

Thank you, it was arduous, challenge and for those two reasons a really insightful experience into Quality Assurance. If Ofsted is looming, I hope to put up some useful highlights over the weekend.
