Mobile Technology in Schools Sooner than we Thought?

A day after Apple announced its new iTouch (the iPhone without the contract), Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab.

Technology analysts CCS Insight said that Samsung had joined the tablet melee with an "attractive device and strong service offer", calling the 7-inch size an "appealing form factor".

However as noted in a previously post, its the pricing we are waiting on. Only then can we compare the two devices for education. Come on Samsung / Vodafone spill the beans.

@stuartridout iTouch, thinner -hardware upgrades iPhone 4, Retina Display, A4 chip, the gyroscope. 4rd & front cameras – uk price? wow

I’m more excited about it as a HD video camera, movie editor, stills camera, voice recorder and web access.

I just took that as green. LOL – I am interested in SEN applications in particular for learning. Harry (my 2 yr old)  loves the Apps! (edited I missed out the word apps.)

@KristianStill £189 for 8GB, £249 for 32GB

Technology in classrooms will undoubtedly, in around that price, (IOHO, in our humble opinion, if I may speak on Stuart’s behalf) be more mobile, more engaging…. as long as schools are able to offer a resilient wireless service, sooner than we thought.
