Classdojo App

For those of you that occasionally drop by, you will know that I am a big fan of Classdojo. I’m not the only one, thousands of teachers worldwide have stumbled across this fantastic and free behaviour management tool and use it to promote positive behaviour in the classrooms. To boot, they have a fantastic development team in Sam and Kalen, a team that really listens to their users community, to whom I see them frequently thanking or replying to via Twitter. Classdojo is barely a toddler, but it is growing up fast and today I downloaded the native iOS app.

Sam mentioned that they were bringing on a new designer, and I am sure you will agree when I say that the new app looks sharp. Not to mention all the new characters.

You are already going through in your class lists and preparing your seating plans, why not build a dojo. Download the app or access it via the web, add the names, set or code the behaviours, and reward the behaviours you want to see in your classroom. Like all good teaching, commit to the process lesson by lesson and the students really respond. Even better, if you have an academic meeting with a parent or carer you have ready-made feedback. Believe me, it made a huge impact.
