Now this is as good as it gets this week. Spelling tests. With the aim of keeping it all within the VLE, of course. In our case Moodle.
I really like the look and feel of Microsoft Education Labs flashcards. You can add images and audio, but you have to record the audio first. Then its a simple link out to the ‘deck.’ There the Silverlight interface is very polish.
Next, Moodle Flashcards. Again, audio and images are available. Simple, good feedback on student performance is available and of course its right there on the VLE. Not nearly as polished as Microsoft but the learning is 100% as good.
Then there is Voisse. ‘The easiest way to record your voice.’ It was in fact very quick and very easy. With just two steps I was able to share the audio to any website with the embed code. Voila. A neat tool for the techno newbie, but I still think I would like to make a spelling learning resource with a little more pizazz.
