The power of community

I get so much from my online colleagues that I am so looking forward to making about dozen people 3D and meeting up with many of them at The Teaching, Learning and Assessment Conference on March 16th, 2013 at Berkhamsted. Surely you have heard of it… no? Well you need to

To be invited to contribute is a priviledge.

There are the education conference heavyweights. Alistair Smith, Professor Bill Lucas and Dr Bill Rankin who will be rockin’ up to share their expertise and know how. On top of that, you get three workshops from some really excellent teachers. Yes, real life, hard working, oxygen breathing, same as me and you, teachers. These guys and gals are real teaching community pioneers; teaching professionals, passionate and focussed on learning and improving the craft of teaching.

Now, the smart folks the steering commitee deliberately picked a Saturday for the event… I know, I know… but in a world of rarely cover, supply costs and meanile reasons for someone to say, ‘I am sorry but…’ this really is a great solution. Not a single student disadvantaged.  And surely, if you are giving up your time to attended, surely the school can pay the meagre £40 fee (breakfast, lunch, refreshments and all the resources you can carry, or most likely download, knowing them canny teachers, included) plus travel costs.

What can you expect? Nothing short of getting your Teaching, Learning and Assessment socks rocked. Big Picture problems, with real tried and tested solutions. Interactive, roll your sleaves up and get stuck in 45 minute workshops.
