Zoomit

Add a little extra to your screencast. I have always like screencasting as a tool. More recently I have asked students to create screencasts as a way to evidence their learning and I must say, students really have to know their stuff, plan how to screen capture it and record it. We have been working with a range of tools from Jing (App) to Screentoaster (web-based) when I read about ZoomIt in Ian Ushers tool list on Jane Hart’s webiste.

I had originally pasted in the Microsoft explanation, but here is the teacher version. ZoomIt is screen zoom and annotation tool for screencasts. ZoomIt runs in the background works on command using hotkeys (eg CTRL+1). Whilst screencasting, simply press your hotkey combination and Zoomit, zooms into the cursor. Press our hotkey combination again and its back to normal.
